MATI Workshop 2013
This year's workshop in Mati, Greece, focuses on recent advances in the fields of driven systems, synchronization, topological insulators, and Bose-Einstein condensates. Among the topics covered were, in particular: resonant and directed transport in spatiotemporally driven potentials (in 1D and higher dimensions), synchronization in complex systems, topological insulator phases in (driven) electronic and photonic systems, aspects of topological quantum computation, correlations in many-body systems, as well as various effects in (spin-orbit coupled) Bose-Einstein condensates. Being a joint venture of the Center of Optical Quantum Technologies at Hamburg University and the Department of Physics at Athens University, the workshop offers the opportunity of creative and open-minded discussions. It addresses in particular challenges and open questions in the above fields.
