Workshop on Giant Interactions in Rydberg Systems 2018
A workshop of the DFG Priority Programme 1929
July 4 - 6, 2018
Rydberg systems have seen in the past years an unprecedented progress of their research frontiers branching out into many modern fields of quantum physics and beyond. They are now bridging between different subdisciplines such as quantum optics, long-range interacting many-body systems or exotic molecules. First applications reach out to new aspects of quantum simulation and information processing or sensors operating in specific frequency regimes. Platforms include not only atomic and molecular systems in the gas phase but also semiconductor bulk systems. The purpose of this status workshop of the DFG priority programme 1929 is to bring together the leading groups and experts in the meanwhile broader field of Rydberg or highly excited systems, to define the rapidly developing state of the art of the field and discuss the most recent advances.
