SFB925 Theory Workshop
24-26 March 2014
"Quantum dynamics in systems with many coupled degrees of freedom: challenges for theory"
The purpose of this workshop is to discuss strategies for solving the time-dependent Schroedinger equation (or equations of motion for suitably reduced quantities) for systems with many coupled degrees of freedom. The workshop is an activity of SFB 925 and the Wolfgang Pauli Centre.
A particular goal of the workshop is to deepen connections among the research areas within SFB 925. Therefore, in addition to invited presentations, we plan to have dedicated discussion sessions. In these sessions, we would like to discuss questions such as:
What methods for solving quantum-mechanical equations of motion are being employed in the various research areas of SFB 925? Why? To what degree are those methods problem-specific? To what degree can the methods established in one research area be employed in other areas? Can we identify suitable hybrid approaches that combine the best ideas from the various research areas?
