After successful optimization of trapping and imaging of individual bosonic ¹⁷⁴Yb atoms we have now succeeded in trapping fermionic ¹⁷³Yb atoms in triple (¹S₀, ³P₀, ³P₁) magic optical tweezers at 759nm using the magic angle for the polarization of the tweezer light.

For the first time we have loaded individual 174Yb atoms in a small tweezer array at a wavelength of 532nm. Atoms are imaged on the 1S0 -3P1 transition.

We welcome our 3D MOT back to the lab
