Jan Südbeck (né Gniesmer) is a post-doctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Roman Schnabel.
He was a joint Ph.D student of Prof. Dr. Michael Oestreich at the Institute for Solid State Physics (Leibniz University of Hanover) and Prof. R. Schnabel at Hamburg University.
For his Master studies he joined the group of Prof. Dr. Schnabel at the Institute for Gravitational Physics and finished with the Master thesis in 2014 with the title “Verteilung nicht-klassischer Zustände des Lichts über eine Glasfaser von 1km Länge” (“Distribution of non-classical states of light through a glass fiber of 1km length”).
He finished his Bachelor studies of physics at the Leibniz University of Hanover in 2011 with the Bachelor thesis in the group of Prof. Dr. Uwe Morgner (Institute for Quantum Optics) with the title “Aufbau eines passiv gütegeschalteten Kurzpulslasers mit hoher Pulsenergie” (“Setup of a Q-switched laser for generation of short pulse with high pulse energy”).
