Bachelor and Master Thesis Projects
Students interested in Bachelor or Master thesis work are welcome at any time.
We offer thesis on the following topics:
- Experimental gravitational wave detection and laser interferometry
- Theoretical work on quantum noise in GW detectors
- Experimental quantum communication and quantum cryptography
- Experiments on the fundamentals of quantum physics, e.g. entanglement
- Photonics and thin films for photonics
- Experiments on artificial intelligence
Master theses to be awarded:
- Machine learning: Test mass stabilisation in the inertial system
- Quantum key distribution: squeezing laser for ultrafast quantum communication
- Quantum computing: Production of photonic Fock ≥4 states
- Einstein telescope: Point absorption on superpolished surfaces of silicon crystals?
- Quantum technology: Optomechanical gas pressure sensor, read out with squeezed light
