- Squeezed light
Axel Schönbeck is a post-doctoral researcher working on squeezed light.
He started his studies of physics at the Universität Hannover in 2007. He received his Bachelor's degree in 2010 and wrote his thesis about the characterization of a nonlinear optical cavity [1] in the group of Prof. Dr. Roman Schnabel.
After his Bachelor degree, he studied two semesters at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, in 2011. When he returned to Germany, he continued his studies and started his Master's thesis in 2013 working on the up-conversion of single photon states [2] in Prof. Dr. Schnabel’s group and received his degree in 2014.
In the following, he started to work on the development of sources to generate squeezed states of light at the AEI in Hannover and moved to Hamburg in February 2015, where he continued his work at the Institut für Laserphysik. He graduated in 2018.
