2017 Nobel Price awarded to Gravitational Waves Team

3 October 2017

The 2017 Nobel Price for Physics honours the detection of gravitational waves. The committee awards Rai Weiss, Kip Thorne, and Barry Barrish as well as the entire LIGO collaboration.  This also includes the following members from the University of Hamburg: Lisa Kleybolte, Mikhail Korobko, Amrit Pal-Singh, Prof. Dr.Roman Schnabel, Axel Schönbeck, Dr. Jessica Steinlechner, Dr. Sebastian Steinlechner, as well as former PhD students Dr. Melanie Ast and Dr. Christoph Baune.
