Loan periods and expiry dates
Find “A” textbooks in our textbook collection. The library loans these for 4 weeks. Users can extend loans 3 times for a period of 4 weeks per extension. They can do this themselves via their user account.
A fourth and final extension can be applied for directly at the library loan desk.
Borrowing items over the weekend:
From 2 pm on Friday to 10:30 am on Monday, cannot be extended
From 4 pm to 10:30 am the following day, cannot be extended
If you return books late, the library charges €1 per book per week (from the beginning of the week in question).
As of the second late week, the fees are calculated as follows:
- 1 week = €1 per late return
- 2 weeks = €1 + €2
- 3 weeks = €1 + €5
- As of 5 weeks = €1 + €10 (maximum: €18 per late return)
If a book is never returned and/or lost, the user needs to pay the costs of replacement and an administrative fee of €20.
Fees cannot be paid in cash at the libraries but rather with a girocard or a stored-value card (GeldKarte).
Alternatively, you can pay in cash. The receipt must subsequently be submitted to the library as proof:
Monday–Wednesday, 9 am–3 pm
Thursday, 10 am–6 pm
Friday, 9 am–1 pm
Fee regulations are posted on site.
