Student Councils

The physics student council represents the interests of all students in the physics department. At the beginning of each semester, the student council is elected at a student council general meeting. Further information can be found on the  website of the student council.

The departmental student representative committee (FSR) represents the interests of the departmental student body or a degree program. It takes care of organizational matters, appoints committee members, and addresses students’ personal wishes and concerns.

Once a year the FSR is elected at an assembly to which every student of the nanosciences is welcome.

To ensure that they settle in quickly and without problems at the University of Hamburg, orientation units (OE) are held for all first-year students for one or more weeks before the start of lectures.
