Licensing conditions for all e-books
Systematically downloading or printing entire or parts of e-books is strictly prohibited. You may however save or print individual pages or chapters for personal use or for research purposes. (exception: e-books published by Springer Verlag can be downloaded in full as PDFs). E-books may not be passed on to third parties, either electronically or in hard-copy form.
E-books central licensing / access
All e-books licensed by the physics library via the Proquest Ebook Central platform are indexed in the Campus Catalogue. List of available titles (licensed by the Department of Physics library) Instead of a call number, the catalog entry contains 2 links leading to the e-book central website full text. The first link is for the use of the IP address domain of Universität Hamburg. The second link allows members and students of Universität Hamburg to access the e-book from off-campus (access information after typing in their library card number and password).
The e-books are licensed either as single-user access or multi-user access.
Please note:
A few E-book Central titles are available for single-user access. This means that only a single user at a time can use the book. Thus, make sure you close the window at the end of a session so that other users can access the title. There is an automatic time-out after 15 minutes of inactivity. If, when downloading the desired title, you receive a message that access is momentarily denied, try again later. Simply set up a personal account with E-book Central: for free and with additional features. You can choose your own username and password. Create a user account
