Quantum simulation of complex interacting many-body systems is one of the key research areas in quantum gas physics. In view of that, we plan to simulate a thus for not realized celebrated solid state physics model, the Kondo lattice model. Its implementation demands for an atom that doesn't interact in it's ground state. 171Yb fulfills this requirement. To cool 171Yb to quantum degeneracy it has to be sympathetically cooled with an other Yb isotope. Your task will be the design and implementation of a laser system that is capable of providing the necessary laser frequencies and powers to laser cool two Yb isotopes simultaneously.
