We have realized homogeneous 2D Fermi gases trapped in a box potential for the first time. In contrast to harmonically trapped gases, these homogeneous 2D systems are ideally suited to non-local properties of strongly interacting many-body systems. We perform matter wave focusing to extract the momentum distribution in non-interacting and strongly interacting gases. In the non-interacting case we directly observe Pauli blocking. For strong attractive interactions dimers form and we observe a macroscopic occupation of low momentum states, suggesting the presence of a BKT superfluid.
