EquAL Project Launched to Develop Quantum Algorithms for Aviation

Last week, we kicked off the EquAL Project, supported by funding from the Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank (IFB Hamburg) in collaboration with Lufthansa Industry Solutions (LHIND), to develop cutting-edge quantum algorithms for the aviation industry.
By merging our quantum algorithm expertise with LHIND's deep knowledge in aviation, IT, and optimization, we aim to integrate quantum optimization into real-world applications, pushing the limits of current technology.
Our initial focus is on the airport gate assignment problem, where we strive to optimize gate allocation for aircraft, reducing delays and enhancing resource utilization. The success of this project will showcase the potential of quantum algorithms in tackling complex optimization challenges within aviation.
The algorithms developed through this collaboration will have broad applications, extending beyond aviation to address optimization issues across various industries.
Together with LHIND and Rymax One teams we are set to make significant advancements in quantum optimization, establishing a new benchmark for efficiency in aviation and other fields.
