Hoc Khiem Trieu
Prof. Dr. Hoc Khiem Trieu holds a W3 professorship at the Technical University of Hamburg and leads the Institute for Microsystems Technology. His academic journey includes a diploma in Physics from RWTH Aachen University and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Gerhard-Mercator University GH Duisburg. Prior to his current role, he held leadership positions at Fraunhofer IMS, specializing in integrated sensors and actuators. Prof. Trieu is actively involved in various research initiatives, such as serving as spokesperson for the Research Center for Medical Technology Hamburg (fmthh) and initiating the Hamburg Electronics Lab for Integrated Optoelectronic Systems (HELIOS). He is dedicated to nurturing young talent, having supervised numerous student projects and doctoral candidates. Prof. Trieu's contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize for the development of an implantable vision prosthesis. His research, highlighted by publications in reputable journals, focuses on areas like micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and optofluidic photonics.
