Overcoming the Challenges of Quantum Decoherence in Ultra-Precise Sensing
27 October 2023
Quantum decoherence has long been a significant barrier to achieving the highest levels of sensitivity in ultra-precise force sensors. In our latest experiment, we discovered that generating quantum squeezed light directly within the sensor can substantially mitigate the effects of decoherence. Moreover, we've established a new fundamental quantum limit for such measurements. This work paves the way for more precise and versatile sensors in various scientific and technological applications.
Our work is now published in Physical Review Letters Vol. 113 Issue 14.
