Welcome to the Department of Physics’ administration
The Department of Physics’ administrative team advises the department management on all of the department’s tasks, especially with regard to managing resources and strategic planning.
As a central service institution in the Department of Physics, it is responsible for the following:
- budget and finances
- HR and appointments/hiring
- managing properties and rooms
and
- infrastructure and resources for appointments
- quality management
- communication across the department
It supports all members of the department in all questions related to HR, jobs, finances, and infrastructure.
The department administration is headed by the department advisor, who is a member of the department management and enjoys the support of the manager for budget and finances and the manager for HR and appointments as an interface between the office of the dean in the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences and the University Administration.
Further support is available from 2 administrative staff members in the front offices on the Bahrenfeld and Bergedorf campuses. Together they make up a resource management team to support members of the physics institutions and others with regard to training and documentation in the areas of employment, use of funds, and procuring material.
The department’s driver, Thomas Lichthardt, is responsible for transporting mail and goods between the University Postal Service’s main office, the institutes, and the central service institutions of the Department of Physics at all of their locations.
