Ultrafast molecular stabilization mediated by electronic correlations

Project A7 will investigate electronic correlations in conjugated electron systems such as cyclic polycarbon molecules (common targets for all area A), using attosecond time resolved spectroscopy. We will focus on two correlation-driven processes: first we will investigate charge migration in suddenly ionized molecules - in close collaboration with projects A2 and A3 - and second we will study how correlation-based mechanisms such as shake-up can be used to implement a laser stabilization process in the dissociative molecule.
