Research
As part of the MIN faculty and of the department of physics of Hamburg University located in the growing "Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld“, we perform research and teach in the areas of
- particle and detector physics
- astroparticle, neutrino and gravitational wave physics,
- accelerator physics,
- research with photons.
We are leading research projects in the two Clusters of Excellence "Quantum Universe" and "CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter" as well as in the research focus program "Exploration of the Universe and Matter ErUM“ of the federal ministry for research in Germany.
With more than 250 members, we perform research at local and international large scale research facilities. A very close collaboration exists with the "Deutsche Elektronen Synchrotron DESY“ located on the same campus.
