Gravitational Waves from Core-Collapse Supernovae and the lessons we can learn
Core-collapse Supernovae, the explosion of massive stars, are among the several types of gravitational-wave sources yet to be discovered by gravitational wave interferometers. In this talk, I will explain how gravitational waves are produced in the Core-Collapse Supernova engine and particularly focus on how we can probe dense matter by detecting gravitational waves from a galactic Core-Collapse Supernova event.
