Lucent
The objective of LUCENT is to understand structural aspects of photoactive nanoparticles and nanofilms in solution under operando conditions. Techniques to be established are high energy X-ray scattering methods (SAXS, WAXS and PDF), which can be realized in a single experimental set-up. We will take advantage of the complementary of the methods to gain full picture about structural changes of nanomaterials properties under illumination.
Using continuous and pulsed illumination, we aim for temporally resolved diffraction data (movies) with ms time resolution by making use of detector triggering techniques. The materials explored are classical photoactive semiconductors such as dichalcogenide QDs, and transition metal ferrites, as well as halide perovskite nanoparticles, plasmonic Au particles, and 2D materials.
