WorkshopRattle and shine: Gravitational waves and more

The observatory hosted an international workshop organized by Prof. Stephan Rosswog. With support from Rosswog’s ERC Advanced Grant INSPIRATION and by the Excellence Cluster Quantum Universe of the University of Hamburg, the workshop covered the multi-messenger signals of those gravitational wave sources that are detectable with the currently existing facilities of the LIGO-Virgo-Kagra collaboration and by the next generation of instruments such as the Einstein Telescope or the Cosmic Explorer. Participants from many countries discussed the theoretical/numerical prediction of potentially detectable signals including gravitational and electromagnetic waves and neutrinos.
