Research Group Excursion to the West of Hamburg: From Schnaakenmoor to Wildpark Kloevensteen

On 10 May 2026, our research group and friends got together for an excursion to the west of Hamburg. We started the day with a hike from S Rissen through the nature reserve Schnaakenmoor. Our destination was the Wildpark Kloevensteen, where we observed animals in their natural habitat, including red deer, ferrets, and eagle owls.
The main attractions were play-fighting raccoons and seven freshly born baby wild boars.
For lunch, we stopped at the “Kleine Waldschänke,” where they served us delicious traditional meals such as Schnitzel, Spätzle, and Pannfisch.
Another walk through the stunning nature was the perfect end to this day.
