HAFUN will be home to several specialist labs and large research facilities. Here are just a few highlights:
- Gravity lab: deep-level labs with excellent seismic properties, insulated from the building and the surrounding area by special foundations
- Dark lab: experiments on dark matter in rooms shielded from electromagnetic RF fields
- Laser lab: optical technologies for laser interferometers and dust-sensitive silicon detector assembly
- Detector lab: development of silicon sensors and other semi-conductor detectors.
- Radiation lab: exposing detectors and samples to neutrons
- Experimentation hall: construction and operation of heavy and/or large-volume detectors
