Successful measurement campaign with spherical proportional counter detectors at the National Centre of Scientific Research “DEMOKRITOS” in Athens

Researchers from our group at Universität Hamburg recently took part in a neutron measurement campaign at the TANDEM accelerator at NCSR “DEMOKRITOS” in Athens, together with colleagues from the University of Birmingham and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During the campaign, we collected neutron data to characterise our spherical proportional counter.
The measurements are an important step for our DarkSPHERE dark matter programme and also help evaluate possible future industrial applications of the detector technology. We are now starting the data analysis and preparing the next data-taking campaign.
