A team of MADMAX scientists from Hamburg and Munich started to perform of tests with the MADMAX pre-prototype booster Project200 at the Cryolab at CERN.
Project200 was built at Hamburg as a mechanical demonstrator for the moving of a single dielectric disc with three piezoelectric motors and a laser interferometer feedback. The function of the three motors and the laser interferometer was successfully demonstrated in the first cool-down at temperatures below 25 K.
The first three-motor-movement of a disk at cryogenic temperatures is planned for a second cooldown in April. This will be another important milestone towards the final MADMAX experiment.
