First CROC tests completed

We just finished our first testbeam campaign to characterise six of the new "CROC" modules: the latest prototypes of the "CMS Read Out Chip”. They are based on the RD53 project, a common ATLAS and CMS effort to design highly integrated pixel detectors for the high-luminosity LHC. The final CROC version will be used in the Phase-2 upgrade of the CMS Inner Tracker.

Last test beam of the year: running faster than ever!

Exciting weeks at the test beam! Graphite bridges, sped up data taking, freezing temperatures for our pixel modules and a lot of clever hacking.
Nothing could stop us in our quest to determine the spatial resolution of the next generation of hybrid pixel detectors for CMS!
