Hot news: Annealing studies

During our second testbeam campaign this year, we are performing annealing studies for the CMS phase II pixel detector upgrade. This means testing irradiated pixel detector modules at the testbeam to find out how well their radiation damage can be "healed" by thermal annealing: the module we are testing today will be baked in an oven at 60°C for about an hour tomorrow, and then re-tested.

First testbeam of the year

Last week we had our first testbeam of the year. This time, we took data in area T24 of the DESY II test beam facility to test Low Gain Avalanch Diodes (LGADs) at different voltages and under different beam incidence angles.
