Our group is studying quantum materials and developing microscopic theories of correlated and complex electron systems.
We study correlation phenomena resulting from electronic interactions, the coupling between electronic and nuclear degrees of freedom, and the intertwining of both with structural complexity in nanosystems.
Major research directions:
- “Designer” quantum systems
How to create and steer unusual electronic states and correlations in „superstructures“?
- Spatiotemporal control of electronic interaction phenomena
How to drive correlated electron materials into desired states?
- Microscopic theory of correlated and complex quantum materials
Coupled electron-nuclear dynamics and electron-phonon interactions
Interaction phenomena in nanosystems and at interfaces
Spatiotemporally non-local interactions and correlations
Downfolding approximations and benchmarking
