Mass spectrum of Pop III stars
Pop III stars are expected to form in pristine dark matter halos of a few times 10^5-10^7 solar masses halos at z > 10. Their mass spectrum remains unknown so-far due to the lack of direct observational constraints. In this talk I will present results from 3D radiation hydrodynamics cosmological simulations and show that massive stars up to hundred thousand solar masses can form depending upon the ambient conditions. I will also discuss the role of feedback in limiting their masses and potential implications for massive black hole formation.
