From water megamasers to stars near the Galactic Center
Abstract: I would like to use this opportunity to introduce two research projects that I was heavily involved during my PhD and previous postdoc term. In the first part of the talk, I will show you how we used the 22 GHz water maser emission located within the central parsec region of some nearby active galaxies to measure the Hubble Constant and black hole mass with very long baseline interferometry observations, as part of the Megamaser Cosmology Project (MCP). In the second part of my talk, I will show you how we observe the center of our Galaxy with near infrared interferometer, GRAVITY and my work on searching for faint stars near SgrA*, in which I applied the CLEAN algorithm and self-calibration from radio interferometry onto GRAVITY data.
